A Beautiful Reminder of My Life Journey

A Beautiful Reminder of My Life Journey

When I was first introduced to Maja’s beautiful monogram necklaces, I knew I stumbled onto something very special.

I just didn’t realize how special it would feel to wear the initials, so close to my heart, of the people who mean the most to me – my husband, daughter, and son, along with my first initial – intertwined into a beautiful monogram. Each time I glance in the mirror throughout the day, seeing my necklace brings me a sense of love and calm – centering me around what and who are important in my life.

I knew almost immediately after putting on my first custom monogram design that I would add a second piece to my collection. Knowing how powerful my first piece feels when I wear it, I took time to think about what word or initials would be just as meaningful to me to place into a second custom design.

Then one day, it came to me – I asked Maja to design a piece with the initials E-H-P. These initials represent what I refer to as “my orphanage name.”

My life didn’t start out picture perfect. In 1970, I was abandoned, left in a cardboard box in a parking lot in Seoul, Korea. I was abandoned without any identifying information. No birthdate. No place of birth. No name.

It was a few weeks after I was found that I was transferred from a children’s hospital to an orphanage. I was given the name Eun Hee Park. Park was the surname of the orphanage director.

The initials that I now wear, E-H-P captured in a beautiful custom monogram designed by Maja, sits just below my family monogram. And it is the first time that I’ve acknowledged this part of my life in such a personal way.

Just like with the first necklace, I didn’t realize how powerful wearing this piece would feel. It not only represents an acknowledgement of where I came from but the first time I wore it, I felt a sense of peace and acceptance wash over me.

The beautiful monogram represents the journey my life has taken, the twist, turns, the struggles, and the triumphs.

Each time I see my reflection with my second monogram necklace sitting just below my family’s initials, I feel gratitude for my journey, pride in who I’ve become, and acceptance and gratitude for where I came from.

I’m reminded that my life is a glorious gift and each day is an opportunity to be do something spectacular!
